Matthew Pearce Public School
We completed a broad scope of work at Matthew Pearce Public School.
Every Trade Group faced the challenge of completing a 13-million-dollar facility in a short period of time while staying under budget. To achieve a specific requirement, we poured the race track in eight sections using a truss screed machine, which operated on four separate rails and two motors attached. We had to ensure that there was only a 2% fall across 1400m, which was extremely difficult to achieve.
To mitigate potential delays or cost overruns, our team conducted regular cost reporting on a fortnightly basis and implemented two week look ahead programs to keep real-time costs and progress recorded. We completed the project on time and under budget, with the NSW Minister of Sport attending the grand opening and congratulating all involved on the state-of-the-art facility. The new facility can house up to 60,000 people, and the racetrack is the flattest/smoothest racetrack in the world, making it a unique and impressive project.
