Every Trade Group faced the challenge of completing a $13 million facility within a short timeframe while staying under budget. To meet specific requirements, we poured the race track in eight sections using a truss screed machine, which operated on four separate rails and two motors. Achieving only a 2% fall across 1400m was an extremely difficult task, but we succeeded.
To mitigate potential delays or cost overruns, our team conducted regular cost reporting every fortnight and implemented two-week look-ahead programs to track real-time costs and progress. We completed the project on time and under budget, with the NSW Minister of Sport attending the grand opening and congratulating all involved on the state-of-the-art facility. The new facility can house up to 60,000 people, and the racetrack is the flattest and smoothest in the world, making it a unique and impressive project.
